Padre Island National Seashore

Malaquite Beach and Campground are at the very
northern end of Padre Island National Seashore, and
only a few miles from Corpus Christi Texas.

Malaquite is the only section where vehicles are not
allowed on the beach.

You will need four wheel drive due to soft sand and
tides, but with the right equipment, driving  and primitive
camping are allowed everywhere south of Malaquite.
The water is the real attraction here. The water
temperature was a tropical 83 degrees during our visit.
makes beach access easy.
The boardwalk is not the only way to get to the beach.
There are nine shelters and picnic tables on the beach
at the campground.

Take your cooler, drinks, snacks, lunch and lawn chairs
down to the beach.
Park Rangers patrol the beach on a four wheeler.
